Pegasus Place - All Schools

Now that fishing has come with wizard101's newest update, energy is what every wizard needs. Till now we used our energy to train pets and do gardening, but now fishing also costs energy. That being said, we can't really enjoy all three aspects of the game without spending crowns now and then to refill our energy globe. Wrong. Yes we can. With my help, you will be able to earn 4-5 (if you re lucky enough, maybe even more) energy elixirs every 24 hours. All you need to do is to log in to Grub Guardian, buy Wysteria Map pack (649 crown, or 7 days of KIFreeGames Trivia) and follow my guides. Note that Energy Elixir drop is not guarantied.

Everyone has been asking me to make a guide for Pegasus Place map on Grub Guardian and so I have decided to respond to your requests. Not only that, but I managed to make a guide for each school and as an addition I even managed to make a strategy for one setup without using a single Avalon Guardian.

Pets I used for my guides are: Mega Life Minotaur (Life), Mega Myth Imp (Myth), Mega Pegasus Pony (Balance), Mega Polar Cat (Ice), Epic Arcane Helpers (Storm), Ancient Vampire (Death) and Ancient Tiki Kahuna (Fire). I hope that you will find the helpful.

HTTP vs HTTPS

Yes, beside KI games I would also like, occasionally, to write about networking. I will be posting some of the well known facts to all IT people, but still useful knowledge to common person who isn't familiar with networking. This will be also a great opportunity for you to learn some of the security issues that you face everyday when you are online. I won't be going to the core of each networking term, but maybe a little explanation of what it does and how does it affects you.

So for today's topic I choose HTTP and HTTPS protocols. You are seeing them in action everyday while surfing. Do you know the difference?

HTTP - HyperText Transfer Protocol
HTTPS - HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure

Roughly said, information you are sending when you are online is encrypted while using HTTPS protocol. Lets say that you want to reach www.wizard101.com. In order for you to get there, information will travel through several routers in the world, making your communication exposable. If Wizard101 or Pirate101 used HTTP protocol instead of HTTPS protocol, information, like your credentials, credit card number, etc. would be visible to everyone who intercepts your communication with www.wizard101.com or www.pirate101.com. And that goes with everything you do on the internet. HTTPS on the other hand encrypts that message, so even if someone hijacked some portion of you your information, they couldn't do anything with it. All they can see is random set of characters, nothing more than that. However, while your computer is communicating with server via HTTPS protocol, you will notice that the page is loading little slower. That is completely normal, because encrypting and decrypting messages on both sides of the communication takes a little time.

So, whenever you are registering on new site or email hosting server or even a new game, make sure that you are using secured connection. I should also probably mention, that if you are surfing on the internet and you come across on site that doesn't use HTTPS connection by default, you can always click on your address bar and add https:// before www. In most cases you will switch to encrypted communication, in other cases you won't, unfortunately some servers don't support HTTPS protocol.

I hope you liked this article! I know I did. Have fun, and remember, stay safe!

Castle Avalon

One word for this map - unpredictable. I used Mega Life pet. With this setup I even managed to get gold medal. I got lots of wyvern and dragon hoard packs. Raven packs occasionally. Interesting part is that I got more packs when I was left with 1 or 3 snack than when I won the gold medal. Even when I lost all of them in 4th, 3rd, wave before finish I got one of those two packs. I prepared a video guide for you guys. Also below is the table with short description of drops that found useful.

A Hand that is hard to get

Farming Bobby Bones is not that hard, on the other hand drops are really rare. But that is the the thing with unique drops, no matter how rare they are it is awesome and rewarding feeling when you get them. I originally started farming Bobby Bones for Quackosaurus pet and the pet was the last thing I got. Even if Bobby Bones' Hand has really low drop rate, I got it on my first run. When I finished with this skeleton, I kinda wanted to continue, I wanted to farm for other unique items. But more on that in next post. For now I want to share my experience and thoughts of this particular farming season. Also I will be posting short info about the drops for the ones I think it is worth mentioning.

It took me approximately nine hours to get all of the above mentioned drops. Not in a row, maybe more like about three days of non constant playing. But for that time I found a way for a single run to be painlessly fast. And this is my strategy (I owe everything to Mark & Recall new feature):

  1. Leave a Mark next to the Perdition's Tempest

  2. Go in and board the Grim Reaver
  3. Chose your companions (this is how my setup looked like)

    * Lemba Moonskull -
He is really useful because of the Big Guns. I can hit wherever on map I want.
    * Goronado - With Vicious Charge he is really useful on any farming spot.
    * Nausica - Same as Gronado's Vicious Charge, Nausica's Centaur's Charge lets you move twice longer on the battle board.

  4. Aim with everything at Bobby Bones (since the battle objective is to defeat only him)

    * Note that there are bosses restrictions with max dealt damage in Pirate101. But three hits from max leveled pirate and his crew should be enough for this particular boss.

  5. Collect the loot and click on Recall.
From this point on you just keep repeating this procedure and if you are lucky enough you can get all his drops in no time.

This is it from me for now. If you want you can always keep track of my progress and my current farming spots with hashtag #FarmingWithDuncan on twitter. You are more than welcome to join.
